The brief:
Having expanded their office space, Shrewsbury based West Mercia Supplies were looking to enhance and upgrade their current HVAC systems. With a strong industry reputation, Cosaf were invited to pitch for the work alongside four other companies.
Our Solution:
Integrating each of their contrasting services into one turnkey solution, Cosaf were commissioned to design, supply and install new Air Conditioning, Evaporative Cooling Technology and Heating services to facilitate a new mezzanine area of the business.
The refurbishment of the site’s air conditioning was a far reaching task, with 19 of the existing units having to be removed from across the three storey building and replaced with new Daikin VRV air conditioning systems that allowed for an impressive spate capacity of 180m2 of office space.
A key part of the project was to be the ventilation of the brand new mezzanine area. To provide sufficient cooling directly to the area Cosaf recommended the installation of their award winning Evaporative Cooling Technology. Unique to Cosaf, the Evaporative Cooling Technology provides the most energy efficient temperature relief for large industrial spaces, factories and warehouses.
In order to effectively cool the warm mezzanine area, Cosaf recommended the installation of six evaporative cooling units to direct fresh, ambient cooled air to the production area. In addition, an extraction system was added to work in conjunction with the Evaporative Cooling Technology.
To facilitate the mezzanine floor, Cosaf also installed and repositioned two gas fired heaters in order to improve air distribution and energy efficiency rates for the company surroundings.
The Result:
An integrated HVAC solution, the West Mercia Supplies project demonstrated Cosaf’s proficiency and expertise for projects that encompass low energy, low carbon environment solutions.
“Prior to this project being completed, we had the issue of how to effectively cool one area whilst maintaining heat in another. The work completed by Cosaf has helped significantly in improving the overall air quality control throughout the premises and we are thrilled with the professionalism of the job.”
