Air Conditioning performance accreditation for Cosaf 18/11/2011

CIBSE: Engineering A Sustainable Built Environment

Cosaf’s very own Senior Design Engineer, Andrew Cleaver-Smith, has been accredited for Air Conditioning performance inspections.

The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 require inspection of all air conditioning systems with rated outputs over 12 kW at intervals not greater than 5 years. Those over 12kW must be inspected by 4 January 2011 and the work must be carried out by an accredited inspector.

Having an AC system inspected by an Air Conditioning Inspector is designed to improve efficiency and reduce electricity consumption, operating costs and carbon emissions. Cosaf Air Conditioning inspectors will highlight improvements to the operation of your systems or opportunities to replace older, less energy efficient systems or oversized systems with new energy efficient systems.

Cosaf are also accredited with The Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) to carry out Air Conditioning Inspections in line with CIBSE guidance document TM44: Inspection of Air Conditioning Systems.

CIBSE inspectors are accredited to AC Level 4 (complex systems) which enables them not only to inspect simple packaged cooling systems but also complex systems including centralised air systems and centralised cooled water systems.
