Leading industry experts, Cosaf, have highlighted their commitment to HVAC excellence with a highly complex contract win at Siemens Congleton.
Siemens produce the variable speed drives that control the pace of motors driving production lines and baggage-handling systems for export around the world.
The Congleton plant is focused not only on the production of Siemens drives range, but also increasingly on research and development into drive technology.
Cosaf were tasked to design, supply and install a low energy, low carbon cooling system to replace the current air conditioning system serving the automation and drives test cells.
The Factory Managers at Siemens Congleton needed a secure, reliable system that wouldn’t allow temperatures to rise above 25°c in line with stringent guidelines. The test cells are a dependant operation which can’t afford any down time.
Having received commendations for manufacturing quality, the Breezair system, which is exclusive to Cosaf, was deemed far superior to products and methods tendered by the competition.
Setting new standards in evaporate cooling, the Breezair unit is proven to be 80% more resourceful than standard air conditioning units operating on 100% fresh air with no use of harmful gasses. With improved air delivery and significant noise level reduction Breezair also dovetailed seamlessly with Siemens’ environmental policies, saving on energy costs and keeping efficiency rates competitively high.
Mike Sullivan, Director at Cosaf said:
“Following the success and reliability of the systems installed at Siemens over the past few years, the staff were assured when it came to this particular project, that the quality and efficiency of the Breezair product along with the design expertise of Cosaf, would be in keeping with the high standards expected.”
